On June 25 and 26, 2026, the Ukraine Revovery Conference 2026 (URC 2026), a global event dedicated to Ukraine, will be held in Gdańsk. These annual conferences were initiated by the G7 and the Multilateral Donor Coordination Platform for Ukraine (Ukraine Donor Platform). Since January 2023, the platform has been connecting G7 governments, Ukraine, financial institutions, and international partners (including Poland) to coordinate budget support and infrastructure projects.
On December 10, 2024, the presidents of our Chamber, Jacek Piechota and Volodymyr Lytvyn, in a letter to Paweł Kowal, Chairman of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine, proposed that Poland should seek to host URC 2026 in Poland. During URC 2025 in Rome, this was one of the topics discussed between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Donald Tusk. SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 The Ukrainian side confirmed that URC 2026 will be held in Poland. early February 2026Polish preparations for this important conference have begun. The Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce is not only a co-initiator of this event, but—in my person—is actively participating in the conceptual work and consultations related to URC 2026.
What can I share with our member companies today?
Firstly, it will not be a Polish-Ukrainian conference, but a multilateral conference whose program must reconcile many needs and aspirationsThe conference will be attended by representatives of 40 governments from around the world, international organizations, and financial institutions. The program is organized around five thematic axes: business, human capital, local reforms, EU reforms, and security and defense.
Secondly, non-governmental organizations such as chambers of commerce and company representatives will not be the main actors of this event. The main part of URC 2026 is planned to be attended by 1500-2000 representatives from around the world. The Steering Committee, appointed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, is discussing with business organizations how to introduce a Polish component into URC 2026. However, our plans must receive approval from the Ukrainian side. We expect that, in addition to high-level political discussions, there will be approximately 30 discussions in which representatives of non-governmental organizations, including business organizations, will have the opportunity to participate. However, these 30 discussions must be divided into five thematic axes, and the expectations of Ukraine, Poland, and the "rest of the world" must also be taken into account. Satisfying almost everyone requires consideration and compromise. It's quite a puzzle, and it takes a lot of time.
Thirdly, I submitted to the Steering Committee a request to issue a certain number of tickets for company representatives for the second day of URC 2026. The idea was well-received, but there's a long way to go from concept to approval (including from the event's security services), and I'll know more at the end of April. Please note that participation in the first and second days of the event will require an invitation signed by the Polish and Ukrainian Ministers of Economy. There will be no open registration!
Fourthly, a space for company presentations is planned. There will be 240 exhibition stands – small, unified, and distinguished primarily by the company name and logo. However, this number of 240 must be divided into three: equal parts for Ukraine, Poland, and other countries. The stands of all companies, regardless of country of origin, will be organized around business profiles: the largest number of stands for energy, dual-use, and infrastructure and logistics, with the smallest number for medicine and construction. Polish companies will be selected through a competition, which will be announced on the PAIH website – we will keep you updated. Real commitment to economic cooperation with Ukraine and the potential to participate in the reconstruction effort will be considered. Each stand will be staffed by a limited number of company employees – in previous URC editions, this number was 2-3 people. Participation in the exhibition will be free.
I'm sharing this information so you know that the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce is also active in the URC 2026 process, advocating for the interests of member companies. However, we are not the organizer, nor are we the only organization presenting our ideas and expectations.
